How can I share (html / php) code between web-pages?

I have a small site with 6 pages.
When viewed in a browser, all pages have the same footer and header.
I’d like to reuse the same code rather than maintain 6 copies if it in 6 different files.
What’s the easiest way to do this?

The panel on the left has 6 links, one to each of my pages.
I’d like the link to the current page to be in bold.
Again how can this be automated?

Thanks
P.

Use a "master page"/"content page" scheme like that of ASP.Net. use include to attach the content to the master page to get your desired page. You could use a get variable to identify the content page as, for example, in

http://www.mysite.com/?page=aboutus

http://www.mysite.com/?page=products

Your content pages could be php files which fill a <div> section of the master page in turn.

What is HTML code for a customizable foreign exchange calculator?

I need the HTML code for a foreign exchange calculator where the rates are customizable by me. For example, someone will be able to type in 1 Euro and it will tell them (based off of my rate) how many USD that equals. Anyone know the code for something like that?

You will need to use Java or JavaScript to do that. It’s not that hard… Go to w3schools.com to learn more about javascript and other languages. I have a code for temperature converter and it’s almost the same thing, you should just play around with numbers to get what you want. If you need code, lemme know.

What exactly is a Web Development and Multimedia Degree? What can I do with it?

What would I be learning in it? Please answer like you would to a person who has no idea about what Web Development and Multimedia is. Would it be just a whole bunch of boring JAVA, XML, and etc? Would it be kind of fun actually?
What would be the types of things a person with this degree would create? Please give me any links to any visuals that you can.

Thanks so much in advance!!!

I recommend looking on collegeboard.com. Here’s a few links of majors.

How difficult is it to be successful at web design & development?

I’m a middle school teacher who would like to make a career change. I’m very attracted to web design & development, but have heard that the market is now flooded with web designers. I also read that they don’t make much money. How difficult is it to get a job in this field and how much money can you make? What kind of education would I need? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

It is not difficult to get a job in the web development industry since there are more job than people to fill them!

You can make anywhere from $30000 to $100000 to even millions if you make your own profitable sites. Just go to monster and search "Web".

A BS degree in Computer Science or a similar aspect like web design/development would be useful for getting a job.

NCSA gives certifications and training programs that will certainly help: http://www.ncsacademy.com/?ref=3043

To learn web programming languages:

As for design… that’s the hard one. It takes a lot of artistic skill to design a web page. Courses and classes will help, but an inner click is the best. Look around on Amazon for more books on design:
